Cedrick James Hackworth [manuscript]. 1892-1920.

Transcript of a diary by Cedric James Hackworth, preceded by a memoir and accompanied by photos, letters and certificates. Hackworth describes the preparation of the ship 'Aurora' whilst in Sydney, the voyage to Hobart, and in diary form documents the Antarctic trip under the command of Douglas Mawson. He later documents his experience as a soldier during World War 1 in the Middle East and Gallipoli.
