Daniel Ary Nidess Papers (MS 43), ca. 1943-1944.

The collection includes one letter written to Professor Francis Wolle while Nidess was stationed in Italy during WW II, spring of 1944, typescripts of 17 war related poems written in Italy or North Africa in 1943 (some of which are signed by Nidess), and typescripts of two radio compositions, "Strange things" and "Leading to a recognition of radio composition."

Daniel Ary Nidess was the author of "My Chosen People," a one act play centered on a German Jewish family in Berlin in 1938. The play was directed by James Sandoe at the University of Colorado in 1939 and won the university's annual one-act play contest. It was later published in One Act Play Magazine and Theatre Review (Feb. 1940):144-158.
