Owen Gower Lewis enlisted on 3 Jan. 1916, served as a sapper and then corporal (promoted Feb. 1917) with the 10th Field Company Engineers, transferred to the Australian Flying Corps in April 1917, and was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant in July 1917 and Lieutenant in Oct. 1917. He was killed on 12 April 1918. Born in Elsternwick, Vic. in July 1896, he attended Launceston C. E. G. S. and Wesley College.
