Reminiscences of Emily Jane Prichard (nee Watkins), who migrated from England and settled at Emerald Hill, 1855. William Watkins, father of Emily Prichard, worked as a watch-maker, until he bought the Imperial Hotel, 1855 at 57 Collins St. He later became the proprietor of the Carlton Hotel in 1858. Written in 1932 when Emily Prichard was 87 years old. She dictated them as she was blind.
