Professor Herbert Burton studied at The University of Queensland. He won a Rhodes Scholarship in 1922 and studied at Oxford University. He was Professor of Economic History at the Canberra University College. After retirement he was on a number of Committees including the Committee which recommended the establishment of the Canberra College of Advanced Education. He was presented the insignia of the Commander of the Order of the British Empire for his services to Australian Tertiary Education. ...
