19 letters to the Wilson family of Manchester England, 1852-1857, from James Wilson, an English immigrant writing mainly from Collingwood and describing living and working condtions in Victoria, including his experiences on the Bendigo and Maryborough gold diggings and working in the wine and spirit trade and as a labourer in Melbourne; also three letters he wrote from New Zealand; and one enclosed letter from his acquaintance Thomas Wilson to the Wilson family.
