Nurse who was awarded the MBE for voluntary unpaid nursing during the period of 1924-1957. In 1917, she left Tasmania to serve overseas with the 3rd Unit Australian Army Nursing Service. Came to Western Australia in 1919 and in 1922 married Richard Pugh, a baker. They lived in a number of country towns where Laura worked as a voluntary nurse.
