Mildred Tolbert was born in 1919 and brought up near Pampa, Tx. In 1947, after marriage to Judson Crews she began to show interest in photography and writing. Over the years she was exposed to artistic and literary influences of Judson Crews, Wendell Anderson, and Robert Creeley. Since the 1970s she has devoted much of her time to writing.
