Trained as a Horticulturist at the Royal Horticultural Society's Training School at Wisley, Surrey. Migrated to Australia in 1922. Served with the A.I.F. in Borneo. Commenced his ministry with the Presbyterian Church in 1946 at Yealering. His ministry covered the parishes of Kondinin, Kulin, Boulder, Northam and Koorda.
