Poet and singer songwriter, Kevans has given performances at Australian folk festivals for many years. He is known as Australia's Poet Lorikeet for his poems celebrating working class culture and the need to preserve the environment. Kevans had seven of his poems printed privately for the fiftieth anniversary of Anzac Day in 1965 as part of his fight against war.
