Miscellaneous War of 1812 manuscripts collected by A. Conger Gooyear, including orderly books of camps Batavia and Buffalo; memoranda from an original journal by Gen. Jacob Brown, 1814; letterbooks of Amos Hall and Roger Hale Sheaffe; and letters, documents, and maps concerning the Porter-Smyth controversy, the Battle of Black Rock and the destruction of Buffalo, and the battles of Chippewa, Queenston, Lundy's Lane, Lake Erie, and Fort Erie. Writers include Peter B. Porter and Stephen Van Rensselaer.
