The Quattlebaums were German Protestant pioneers who helped settle the "Dutch Fork" area of South Carolina (present Lexington and Newberry Counties) in the mid-1760's. The family has provided South Carolina with political leaders, engineers, soldiers, teachers, farmers, and executives for more than 200 years.
