Parkman-Blake papers, 1787-1831.

Volumes of members of the interrelated Parkman and Blake families: a receipt book (1817-1824) kept by Samuel Parkman as executor of the estate of Edward Blake, Jr.; and one volume containing Blake's will, Parkman's journal (1817-1824) of his activities as executor, and a letterbook (1824-1831) kept by Robert Gould Shaw (1776-1853) who took over as executor in 1824 following Parkman's death. Also included are Sally Parkman's "cyphering book" (arithmetic notebook, 1787-88), penmanship notebook (1788), and a notebook of French compositions (1795); and a commonplace-book, mostly containing poetry, of "Extracts selected by Ann B. Cunningham and affectionately inscribed to her parents."
