Neil Edward Goldschmidt (born June 16, 1940) is an American businessman and politician from the state of Oregon. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as Mayor of Portland, Oregon from 1973 to 1979, as U.S. Secretary of Transportation from 1979 to 1981, and as Governor of Oregon from 1987 to 1991.
