Autobiography of Henry Carter : of Fulton Township, Lancaster Co., Penn[sylvani]a : typescript, 1892 July 28.

Includes reminiscences of Carter's youth in rural Maryland, experiences as a merchant seaman on the Eastern seaboard, farming in Pennsylvania, voyage to California via Panama in 1849, mining in the California gold fields, and a journey through the midwestern U.S. Typescript was probably made by one of Carter's descendents from an original manuscript.
