WHYY War Letters collection , 1861-1972.

The collection consists of photocopies of about 2,000 letters given to WHYY for their War Letters Project, which explored the effects of war on humanity through first-hand accounts from soldiers on the battlefront to individuals on the homefront. They span from the Civil War period (1860s) to the Vietnam era (1970s) and were donated primarily by members of WHYY's viewing audience.
