Letters, 1828-1845.

This collection of letters from Inman to Childs mostly concern Inman's artistic contribution to Childs' lithographic business from 1828 to 1845, especially from 1830 to 1833, when the two were formally associated in the lithographic firm, Childs, and Inman. There is much discussion of sketches, drawings, portraits, engravings and lithographs. There is also some discussion of Inman's personal and professional affairs as well as those of other artists and lithographers in the New York and Philadelphia areas.
