Autograph letter signed from David Garrick, London, to the Rev. Dr. Hoadly, St. Marie's, Southampton [manuscript], 1772 [January] 4.

Has received his packet. Mr. Colman has long had a design of producing a farce upon the same subject and Bickerstaff showed him one act of a singing piece which he approves greatly. He has no intention of introducing his Art of acting into The rehearsal in a new scene. Gives its outline. Recites his epitaph on Hogarth.
