Television believers [videorecording] / Aron Ranen. [1986]

This exposé of televangelists targets Reverend Peter Popoff, a Pentecostal evangelist and faith healer whose television ministry aired weekly in the United States and Canada in the 1980s. Using a weave of interviews and on- and off-air footage, the documentary examines the role of television as a medium to spread fundamental Christian gospel and as a surrogate for religious experience. Intercepted radio transmissions reveal that Popoff learned detailed information about his audience members through an in-ear receiver rather than divine revelation.
