Goodwin family papers, 1826-1959.

Letters, memoirs, journals, sermons, monographs, genealogical material (concerning Goodwin, Archer, Silvester, Ballard and Smith families) and printed material of members of the Goodwin family. The bulk of the collection is comprised of the papers of Frederick Deane Goodwin, an Episcopal minister including his correspondence with Bishop William Meade and papers of his son, Edward Lewis Goodwin. Volumes include diaries, journal of register of Edward Lewis Goodwin. Includes material relating to research in England for Colonial Williamsburg by Mary Frances Goodwin in 1929-1930; and a memoir of Wytheville, Va. during the Civil War.
