Papers, c. 1884-c. 1930s.

This collection includes her correspondence and literary manuscripts. The correspondence, arranged in alphabetical order by writer in folder 1 of box 1, dates from 1905-1923. Of the 29 letters in the folder, most are social notes or acknowledgements of receipts of one of her literary works. There is one brief letter written by her to Mr. Taylor. Folder 2 of box 1 contains the typescript of Cornelia Gray Lunt's ( - ) autobiography Sketches of Childhood and Girlhood, Chicago, 1847-1864, which was published in Evanston, Illinois in 1925. Cornelia was the daughter of Orrington Lunt (1815-1897), the Chicago philanthropist. Caroline Ticknor wrote the introduction to the book. Folder 3 of box 1 contains Miss Ticknor's poetry, and folder 4 has three incomplete pieces and several printed copies of two of her stories. Folders 5 and 6 contain eight of her plays, arranged in alphabetical order by title. Box 2 contains the rest of her literary manuscripts (mostly essays, biographical sketches, and short stories) arranged in alphabetical order by title.
