Records, 1871-1897.

The collection consists of the papers, 1871-1897, of the KFR (which one Washington journalist believed was an acronym for Knights of Fool's Revenge). The folder includes a roll call, 1878-1879, and a history of the KFR Journal, with a list of editors and subscribers, 1878. The octavo volumes are: a. Records of the KRF compiled by Frank Bolles in 1877, which include historical notes on sessions, chronological membership lists, notes on individual members (with several membership applications tipped into the volume), and drafts of constitutions; b. a volume of newsclippings and printed programs, 1871-1897. The newsclippings are mainly critical reviews of the KFR Journal and the programs concern the group's amateur theatricals and balls. The volume also contains membership lists. The folio volume, 1872-1874, includes roll calls, constitutions, by-laws, and minutes of KFR meetings. The latter concern primarily the establishment of the Journal.
