Comparative Indian vocabulary, 1836.

This manuscript volume of Indian vocabulary by Gallatin represents part of his work, A Synopsis of the Indian Tribes of North America, published by the American Antiquarian Society in 1836. The volume, evidently a printer's copy compares the vocabulary of many North American Indian tribes and also contains select sentences from various tribal languages. There are also two letters by Gallatin dated 1826 and 1847 respectively, the earlier one pertaining to Indian languages.
