Papers including two letters and a fragment of another from John Wesley, Methodist leader, giving advice concerning Story's ministry; letters from Thomas Coke, Methodist bishop; photocopy of a broadside concerning Story's policy as the new editor of the Methodist Publishing House; and notebooks and records containing sermon outlines, notes on medical remedies, prescriptions, notes on medical lectures, outlines of sermons preached by John Wesley and other early Methodist ministers, membership lists for several charges served by Story, hymns, and an adaption of Samuel Taylor's shorthand instructions.

John Wesley, evangelist and founder of Methodism, was born 17 June 1703, in Epworth, Lincolnshire, England, and died 2 March 1791, in London, England.
