Mainly legal papers, bills, and receipts of Richardson during the 1820s and 1830s when he was a justice of the peace in Frederick County, and in the 1840s and 1850s when he was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates; land indentures, surveyors' statements and plats, personal accounts, estate papers, writs and summonses, court records of the Court of Oyer and Terminer for Baltimore County, Md., and for Orphans' Courts in Frederick, Baltimore, and Montgomery counties and Circuit Court records for Washington County, Md., and some legal correspondence concerning the sale of land and slaves. Volumes include a mill book, 1811-1814, containing records of a flour mill, and an anonymous diary, n.d., describing travels through Pennsylvania, Ohio and Kentucky.
