Contents. Envelope 1. "Cat fear": questionnaire, Dec. 1902, seeking reports of acute fear of cats; responses to the questionnaire, dated Dec. 11, 1902 to Nov. 25, 1903. 73 pieces. With this, photocopy of SWM's query in British med. jour. 119:180, 1903, on the same subject. Results of this study published under title, "Of ailurophobia and the power to be conscious of the cat as near, when unseen and unheard," in American medicine, 9:851-853, 1905. Env. 2. Corrected holograph draft of SWM's speech to the College of Physicians of Phila., Apr. 14, 1886, upon the gift of a loving-cup by "two gentlewomen, " [i.e. Mrs. Conover and Mary Cadwalader Mitchell (Mrs. S.W.). 10 leaves. Letters, etc., on College and other business, including especially a letter dated Jan. 2, 1878, witness W.S.W. Taylor, and Taylor's letter of transmittal to C.P. Fisher. Env. 14. Letter, New Haven, 11 May 1906, Russell H. Chittenden to SWM, recounting an experiment with a gentleman claiming an unusual sense of smell.
