Papers of Peter Carr Minor and Hugh Minor, 1812-1869.

Agricultural notebooks showing records of expenses, lists of tools and other items purchased, products sold, and memoranda on wheat produced, 1812-1816; plantation diary or agricultural notes, 1822-1823, containing entries concerning the production of tobacco, corn, wheat, hay, the rotation of crops, the use of plaster, the weather, operation of a grist mill, building fences, and numerous other activities. Agricultural notebooks or diaries of Peter's son, Hugh Minor, also of Ridgeway Plantation, cover the years 1828-1834; 1838-1839; 1842-1844; and a few entries for later years. The volumes include a full description of Ridgeway Plantation and a great detail of information concerning farming operations.
