Epoxy Art Group was founded in 1982 by Ming Fay, Jerry Kwan, Kwok, Bing Lee, Kang Lok Chung, and Eric Chan - six New York City based visual artists with cultural ties to Hong Kong. The name "Epoxy" is a reference to epoxy resin. This name was selected by the collective in order to, in their own words, "represent the strong bonding power of good adhesiveness."
