Kenzō Tange (b. 4 September 1913, Osaka, Japan–d. 22 March 2005, Tokyo, Japan) wan an architect and winner of 1987 Pritzker Prize for architecture. He attended Nihon University and University of Tokyo and became an assistant professor at University of Tokyo. He developed an interest in urban studies, which was one of the reason he helped design new plans for Japanese cities destroyed in WWII.
