Letters of Thomas Lewis, a minister and instructor in a local academy in Sunbury, Liberty County, Ga., to his father, Samuel, of Connecticut; also, letters of James Morris concerning the return of Thomas' belongings to his family. Later letters concern Milo Lewis, a merchant who supplied peddlers in the South and shipped cotton to Connecticut; and Herbert C. Peabody, Lewis' agent in Mobile, Ala. Also mentioned frequently are cotton factories in the South, national politics, and shipments of cheese to William H. Bunnell, a Mobile commission merchant.
