Correspondence, 1835-1840.

The collection contains six letters from Terre Haute, 1835-1840, to his sister, Mrs. St. Clair, and to Arthur St. Clair in Indianapolis and Lawrenceburg. They deal mainly with family matters, particularly the death of his daughter, Jane, who was living with the St. Clairs, in 1840.

Elisha M. Huntington (1806-1862) was born in New York state and moved to Vigo County, Ind. in 1822. He was a lawyer and judge for most of his career. His first wife, Jane Lane, died in 1836.
