Johnston to her niece, Mary Jane McNish Hazlehurst of Savannah and Bethel, Ga., containing information on the Burroughs, Hazlehurst, Bartow, Berrien, and Bullock families. The letters mention politics, with references to Daniel Webster's visit to Savannah, 1847, secession, church affairs, plantation life, slavery, and social life and customs in Georgia.
