Correspondence, diaries, and other papers of the Gregory family of Granville County, N.C. Correspondence of the 18th century is largely that of Sally Pomfret Beasley prior to her marriage. Nineteenth century correspondence contains information on tobacco culture, social life and customs, amusements, and education in North Carolina. Includes personal and business papers of William H. Gregory, merchant and publisher, of Stovall, N.C., while a student at the University of Virginia, 1859-1860, in the Confederate service, 1864-1865, and diaries for various years between 1873 and 1903.
