Correspondence, 1858-1904.

Personal letters of Miss Fisher and her sisters, Mandy and Lavinia, including Civil War letters from Confederate soldiers. War-related subjects include the battle of Richmond, 1862, deserters, a measles epidemic among southern troops, and troop movements in North Carolina and Virginia. Post-war letters are mainly to Jane Fisher from the Rev. L.M. Berry concerning the Baptist churches he served in Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri, the towns in which he lived, and commodity prices in Illinois. There are also letters from his son, A. Moore Berry, a St. Louis, Mo., attorney.
