South Carolina lawyer, author, and planter. He was the son of Joseph Manigault and Charlotte Drayton Manigault. He practiced law in Alabama for a period, and in 1846 he married Anne Porcher Mazyck (1820-1881). Gabriel Manigault was a signer of the Ordinance of Secession. He was also an aide to Gov. F.W.
