Shipmaster of Scituate, Mass., who sailed to ports in England, Ireland, San Francisco, New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Manila, and Belgium with cargos of wheat, coal, nitrate soda, and miscellaneous goods. Papers include lists of all his voyages, and three log-books containing logs for the ship Edith (1877-80), Mariposa (1881-82), Thresher (1882), Continental (1883-84), and Adam W. Spies (1886-87), with additional information on the ships Magellan (1886) and Barden Tower (1893). Also, accounts of ships Edith and Mariposa at various ports in 1877.
