A series of diaries kept by Eliza L. (Lothrop) Homans on various trips: a 1-vol. description of a trip to the Adirondacks with her husband, 1871; 3 vols. describing a trip to Europe and Algeria, 1874-75; 1 vol. which contains an account of an 1881 trip to Utica, N.Y., and an 1888 trip to the White Mts.; an 1884 account of a journey to Europe; a 5-vol. journal of an 1894-95 trip to Europe and India; and an 1897 trip to Italy. Also, notes on books, articles, and short stories which she read, in 5 vols., covering the years 1859-1908; 1 commonplace book of poetry and quotations, 1858-1912; and a "Book of Sorrows," her scrapbook of family deaths, including that of her mother, Mary L.B. Lothrop; her father Samuel K. Lothrop; her husband Charles D. Homans; and his father John Homans.
