Cotton and Increase Mather letters, 1713-1726.

Typescripts of and commentary on five letters from Increase Mather and seventeen from his son, Cotton Mather, both Congregational clergymen in Boston, Mass., written to Sir William Ashurst, Treasurer of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts. The letters concern missionary activities among the Indians of New England, with special reference to the Indians of Connecticut. Other subjects include Cotton Mather's 6-volume unpublished work, "Biblia Americana." The transcriptions and analysis were probably done by W.C. Ford. Location of originals unknown.
