Nodaway County Medical Society Papers, 1872-1892 (1872-1879, 1886-1892). 1872-1892.

The papers consist of two volumes recording the proceedings of two medical societies with the name Nodaway Country Medical Society. Volume 1, 1872-1879, documents the first Nodaway County Medical Society was incorporated in 1872. Volume 2, 1886-1892 records meetings and members of the second Nodaway County Medical Society incorporated in 1886. In between, the New Medical Society of Nodaway County formed in 1883 and its constitution is bound at the end of the first volume and p. 3 of the second volume. Types of materials include primarily manuscript minutes and rolls of members but also occasional press clippings, receipts, printed constitution and by-laws, and letters. Recording secretaries of the medical societies listed in the records were Drs. J.W. Dean (1872-1873), George W. Curfman (1873-1875), M.R. Hackedorn (1875- ), J.B. Morrison (1876-1877), M. Carter (1886-1889), and J.B. Morrison (1889-1992).
