These scrapbooks consist largely of newspaper clippings, correspondence, and related materials concerning John Sanford's 1890 congressional campaign and his activities in thoroughbred horse racing, breeding, and training. There is also information on Sanford's father; his son, Stephen "Laddie" Sanford; and Sanford Stud Farm's trainer, Hollie Hughes.
