The Peace Coalition of Southern Illinois records consist of organizational records and printed material. Organizational records include both national and international correspondence, press releases, mass mailings, fundraisers and project and subject files. Printed material includes newsletters and articles, literature from other peace groups, and pamphlets and books on topics of interest. This collection has a complete set of newsletters from the Peace Coalition of Southern Illinois from 1983-1997, with the exception of 1988, for which there are newsletters for only the first six months. The collection includes a scrapbook (1983-1984), The Ribbon Peace Calendar for 1986, and a few photographs (1985-1986).

The Peace Coalition of Southern Illinois was formed in 1983 and has worked for peace at the local level with peaceful protests, peace vigils, Tax Day events and Potluck Picnic Celebrations, and at the national level by sponsoring portions of The Ribbon Campaign, peace essay contests, and the Great Peace March.
