Several of these items are covered with Van Wyck's drawings, in ink, pencil or watercolors. They also an autograph copy of a youthful attempt at poetry by Van Wyck Brooks.

Charles Edward Brooks was the father of Van Wyck Brooks. He worked as a stockbroker in New York City, but raised his family in Plainfield, N.J.
