Correspondence, 1780-1796.

This collection consists primarily of letters written from Larkin to Mycall between 1780 and 1796. The letters deal primarily with business matters including printing, binding, and sale of books, but also include personal matters. Also included are several invoices for books and printing material sold by Larkin to Mycall. A typescript copy of Marcus A. McCorison's unpublished 1995 bibliography of Mycall's printing is filed with the collection.

Benjamin Larkin (1754-1803) was born in Charlestown, Mass., the son of John and Katharine Frothingham Larkin. He was a bookbinder and bookseller in Boston from 1781 to 1803. Larkin's business establishment was at 46 Cornhill, at the "Sign of Shakespeare's Head." John Mycall (1750-1833) was born in England.
