Samuel Checkley (1695/6-1769) was born and died in Boston, Mass. He received an AB degree from Harvard College in 1715, and an AM in 1718. He was ordained in 1719 and was minister of the New South Church of Boston from 1719-1769. Checkley was an Overseer of Harvard College and in 1725 was chosen Chaplain of the House of Representatives.
