Account book, 1843-1856.

This account book, for the period 1843 to 1856, contains detailed inventories, profit and loss statements, records of loans held on individuals, lists of bills receivable, and a list of companies dealt with. Each inventory contains a "recapitulation" showing the division of profits between Barker and Newton.

William Barker ( - ) and Courtland Newton (c. 1805- ) were partners in a shoe manufacturing enterprise in Worcester, Mass. Barker was the principle owner of the business located at 11 Main Street, with Newton holding a three-eighths share in the profits.
