City planner and landscape architect. Educated at Harvard University (A.B. cum laude, 1907). His first professional employment was in 1908 as landscape architect for the Lowell Park Commission, Dixon, Illinois. In 1909 he became Superintendent of Parks at Utica, New York. Opened an office as "Consultant on City Planning," in Harvard Square, Cambridge in 1911 where he remained until 1950.
