This collection of letters includes one letter by the naturalist Louis Aggasiz to Longfellow, mentioning his 1865 expedition to Brazil. Fourteen letters are written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow to family friend Robert Ferguson, English writer and businessman. Longfellow discusses his translation of Dante, life at Craigie House, etc. There are also thirty-seven letters by Longfellow's daughter Edith [Longfellow Dana] to Ferguson (one signed "Annie Longfellow" but in Edith's hand).
