Mr. C. J. Lord came to Washington State from Chautauqua County, NY where he was formerly a partner with his father's firm specializing in the importation of livestock, particularly Holstein cows from Holland. Mr. Lord came to Olympia, WA with the express purpose of organizing a bank. In 1890 the Capital National Bank was organized and began operations with capitalization of $100,000.
