ALS, 1810 March 29 : Hampton, to F.D. Petit de Villers.

This is an emotional letter of Pierce Butler, as he writes on the death of his son. His son had died just upon reaching manhood. Written in a wobbly hand, it is quite evident that he was indeed suffering from a nervous condition stemming from his sorrow.
