Panthers, 1928-1963.

Newspaper articles, clippings, typescripts, note cards, manuscripts, correspondence and miscellaneous papers representing Dobie's interest in panthers and panther lore, created 1928-1963. Also included is an unpublished work in two stages of development. Miscellaneous panther-related material in the collection, from various sources, represents stories told to and gathered by Dobie, most in typescript and manuscript form. Correspondents include: Ada Payne, Mrs. John Q. Anderson, R.M. Spence, Mrs. John T. Anderson, Beatrice Davis, Mrs. J.S. Belvin, C.A. Goeth. First-hand accounts of panthers related to Dobie by: Louis Dollarhide, General Alberto Guajardo, Charlie Stone, Federico Damm, Charles Newman, Hamilton Faulk, Petmecky, C.B. Ruggles.
